Children's Activities Association Accreditation Modules

As a Children's Activities Association member, you can choose to work towards our comprehensive, independent accreditation developed by experts. Our accreditation body will assist you in completing the remaining four modules: programme, customer service, training, and delivery.

We have worked hard to make sure this is as simple as possible whilst being as comprehensive as necessary to give parents the peace of mind that Children's Activities Association members are operating responsibly.

More information can be found below, or you can contact us if you have any specific questions.

Compliance

Once the Compliance module is completed, you will be an official Children's Activities Association Member, and you will be able to proudly display the Children's Activities Association member logo.

The compliance module ensures that all Children's Activities Association members have appropriate legal and health and safety policies in place. The compliance module has only five parts for which members must provide evidence.

The documents we ask for ensure:

  1. The member has appropriate policies in place around safeguarding, data protection etc.
  2. There is clear accountability for all areas of the organisation.
  3. Security procedures are in place and fit for purpose.
  4. Records of resources exist and are maintained to facilitate regular checks of resources and equipment for safety reasons.
  5. All appropriate legal and insurance documents are up to date (e.g insurance certificates, DBS certificates).

All documents must be kept current and updated/reviewed annually.

Training

The training module ensures that all members of the Children's Activities Association have appropriate training in place for staff and franchisees. Most of this evidence will be uploaded digitally but it is likely that the site visit will include inspection of training either in person or via video.

The documents we ask for ensure:

  1. The training venue is appropriate and well-resourced
  2. The trainees are given all required information about the course in an appropriate manner and time frame
  3. The content of the training course is appropriate, sufficient and accessible by the trainees with transparent pass/fail criteria

  2. The programme is inclusive
  3. The programme is regularly reviewed and updated with adequate feedback procedures

The Delivery module ensures that all members of the Children's Activities Association are delivering the programme in an engaging, accessible manner.  Some of this evidence will be uploaded digitally but it is likely that the site visit will include inspection of at least one observation of the delivery of a session either in person or via video. The evidence we ask for ensures:

  1. The sessions have an appropriate structure (e.g. time allowed for warm ups etc)
  2. Materials used are in good condition and maintained
  3. Logistics and requirements for the sessions are not unreasonable and communicated to parents appropriately
  4. Children are engaged throughout the session
